I have been called perfect when I am not even close. I have been called different, oh wait I know that I am different. I mean each individual is different but a lot have the tendency to follow others so you’ll see replicas everywhere. This post is all about letting you know that whatever that I am doing is not impossible and anyone can do even better. but you see I didn’t say the same because you should have your own perspective in life. Let me tell you a short story:
When I was around 19, I have emailed three magazines in Kuwait to be a writer in the magazine. I wanted to have my own section every month writing about whatever I felt like it. But most importantly I wanted to inspire people. I have also spoken to around 4 publishing companies and I got rejected with the words ( It’s not going to sell,, ) (People are not interested in Poems,,”)
I was disappointed and probably stopped writing for a year.
As soon as I got the hang of photography, I started investing my money and time learning everything there is to know about it. I read books, articles and watched all the possible (How to…) Videos out there. Then I developed my own style because I already know the rules so I had my ways around them.
At the same time I wanted to do more in getting the idea out there. Yes, you might say a picture is worth a thousand words but honestly it’s not. So, I thought why not get back to my poems, in ways I’ll try to explain or have short lines to point out what I meant by my photos that I was taking. A small caption in Instagram wasn’t enough at all. So I figured that I needed a blog page to write whatever I felt like writing. So I launched Pile of Emotions. I dedicated my time to it and wrote everything that I could possibly write. Two years passed and I figured that the blog wasn’t enough. I still needed more. I felt as if something is truly missing.
One of my main goals is to be able to inspire others in the right way. Making them need to be better people not “I want to be like you” type of inspiration. But more like ” I need to work hard on building myself to be a better person.
I admit that I missed a lot of times where I could have had fun and go out and about but I sat home write or plan my next move. I do also believe that learning knows no age. No matter how old you are, you can still learn something, anything.
If it’s a shot of a coffee mug or a video of me walking. Doesn’t matter how much effort was put in the work. What matters is the passion that made it happen. anyone can do anything but what makes your work different is the passion you put in your work. I am still working in building myself, as I am not even close to the finish line yet. As long as I am breathing I will always work in making myself better.
